I Want to Move Better But I Don't Know Where to Start!
I’m about to make a bold statement. Movement is the most important thing in life. Let me explain why I have devoted the last 10 plus years studying human movement. How much do you enjoy anything when you are in excruciating pain? How much more difficult is life when you can’t move because your back hurts, or you can’t turn your neck?
I have been working one on one with clients, as well as in a group setting, as my full time job for over 10 years. I love helping people move better and get out of pain, but what if you could learn how to move so you have the tools to keep yourself out of pain long term?
Here’s what I know about the body:
1) The nervous system’s primary job is to protect you.
2) When an event happens AKA injury/surgery/pain, the nervous system does a really good job of altering your movement to move around that injury.
3) That altered movement is GREAT!... until it’s not.
4) Sprains heal, breaks heal, scars fade from memory- but that altered movement strategy remains until we change something.
That’s where my movement classes come in and why I have had such great success in helping my clients learn about their bodies and develop their own "prehab" strategy. In my weekly movement class I lead you through movement exercises to find out what you struggle with, and thus leading you to what you need to work on to move better and feel better.
